America’s Cup Martial Arts Qualifier Championship

Saturday, Sep 27th, 2008

Location:  National Western Complex, Denver

Sponsored by Disney Martial Arts, Tiger Kim’s Academy, TigerClaw.  All styles of martial arts competition. Each will have its respective judges. EX karate with karate rules and karate masters for judges - Taekwondo rules and Taekwondo Masters for judges - Kungfu rules and Kungfu Masters for judges. Grappling and Team Hapkido events as well. Great event for the whole family to come and watch.  Awards: Swords for black belts who win 1st place in Olympic sparring, Disney medals in qualifier divisions, and AMC medals for all other divisions. Rocky Mountain Open (USAT Event)

Dec 6-7, 2008

Location:  OTC, Colorado Springs, CO

DECEMBER 6: Forms, sparring, and board-breaking competitions open to all ages and USAT recognized belt colors. Grand Champion Awards will be given out in forms. All competitors must be USAT members.

DECEMBER 7: Junior (14-17) and Senior (14+) black-belt sparring only, double elimination.  Winners from the different weight categories will then have a chance to compete for the “Rocky Mountain Cup”, which will be a single elimination bracket to find the overall winner. Both male and female winners of the Rocky Mountain Cup will earn free admission and hotel nights at the 2009 US Open (Las Vegas).

Interesting... Junior/Senior black belt division will also have electronic hogus.
