Good News from Serbia
Darcy Kimmich (welter) won the Silver medal at the World University Championships. Darcy defeated Korea and Chinese Taipei before a last minute loss to Poland. Stefan Webb fought his way into the quarterfinals with solid wins over Serbia and Switzerland, but then lost narrowly to Korea. Outstanding!
AAU Nationals
The AAU National Championships recently held in Madison, WI produced a bumper crop of Colorado medallists. To begin with, congratulations to the black belt medallists qualifying for AAU team trials. Junior division medallists were Melissa Dang (gold) and Christina Martinez (bronze). Adult division medallists were Jeremy Feldman (gold), Kelly Hum (silver), John Kimmich (gold), Ryan McCulloch (gold), Bret Mischlich (sliver), and Stefan Webb (bronze). Good job!

USAT Nationals
Colorado Taekwondo athletes did a great job at the recent USAT Junior and Senior Nationals in Detroit. Stephanie Popken made the 2008 Junior National Team, while Adult World Class Sparring medallists Ally Creel, James Moontasri, and Steve Ostrander are eligible for the Pan Am Team selection camp in September. Many of our athletes medalled in sparring and/or forms.

COSTA Provides Athlete Funding
On June 21st, COSTA provided Aaron Porras with $500 to help cover expenses associated with his recent travel to the World Junior TKD Championships in Izmir, Turkey as a member (male bantam) of the USAT Junior National Team. Checks for $500 also went to Darcy Kimmich (female welter) and Stefan Webb (male light) for travel to the upcoming World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia as members of the US National Collegiate Team.
Colorado Athletes Perform Well at Collegiate Nationals
The NCTA Collegiate Nationals were held at Stanford April 25-26. A large crop of Colorado athletes medalled and qualified for the Collegiate Team Trials that will be held in Highlands Ranch on May 17th. We look forward to seeing Matt Stefanski (Fly), Stephanie Mackay (Feather), Stefan Webb (Light), Sara Fossum (Light), Darcy Kimmich (Welter), Kelly Soderstrom (Middle), and John Kimmich (Heavy). Congratulations!
July 16th: Stephanie Mackay has substituted for Naomi Santa Maria in the female featherweight division due to an injury sustained in Detroit
Team Trials Results (May 17th): Darcy Kimmich (Welter) and Stefan Webb (Light) made the US National Collegiate Team that will compete at the World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia, July 16-20.
State Team Hosts Seminar
The Colorado State Team (2007) and their coaches hosted a training seminar on Saturday, March 29th at Eagle Spirit Academy (ESA) in Littleton, CO.

COSTA Funds German Open Athletes
Two Colorado athletes, Jacob Amerman and Christina Martinez, were part of the AAU National Team that competed at the recent German Open Taekwondo Tournament. In recognition of their accomplishment and hard work, COSTA provided $500 to each to help defray trip expenses.
Colorado State Championship
The Colorado State Championship was held March 15th at Castle View High School in Castle Rock, CO. 171 competitors registered for forms and/or sparring. Things got started right at 9 am and we finished up by 4 pm. There was a lot of great competition and hard work by many volunteers. Results for the State Team fight-off:
